Eco Friendly Durian Fruit Giant Floor Lamp. Natural fibers create a warm and inviting light that brightens any space. The fibers around the durian fruit seed are used to create the fibrous material on the diffuser of this lamp. frame and body the shade is crafted from fibers picked from the durian fruit tree. Durian fruit is, on average, the size of a soccer ball and its distinctive taste and smell usually is not appreciated by westerners, but is a very important domestic fruit in most asian countries. These fibers are stained and inlaid on a heat resistant lamp backing, giving the shade bold color and unique texture. The outer lampshade made of nito vine. Nito is a type of climbing fern, which grows over shrubs and high into trees and is commonly found in low to medium altitudes. portions of the plant can be chewed and applied to the bites of venomous reptiles or insects in order to neutralize the poisons. The frame is constructed from wrought iron, making the lamp very strong and durable; then it’s powder coated in order to ensure longevity of its color. Maintenance and bulbs…We recommend not placing your lamp in direct sunlight. If cleaning is required, use a dry cloth or duster. we do not suggest liquid cleaners or using water. these lamps will not require any special maintenance. To access the bulbs, lay the lamp flat on the floor and unscrew the bottom three screws, which hold the light rod in place. once the screws are undone, pull out the light rod. add or change light bulbs. reinsert the light rod and secure the screws. We suggest using compact fluorescent light bulbs. these bulbs will get nice and bright without the added heat compared to a standard incandescent bulb. the bulb also will last much longer, in many cases over five years. on average, a 13-watt fluorescent bulb will create the same lumens of light as a standard 60-watt light bulb and a 26-watt fluorescent light bulb will have the same light output as a 100-watt incandescent bulb. please check with the manufacturer of a specific bulb for its specs. These light bulbs are considered to be a great alternative to standard light bulbs since they promote energy efficiency. we wanted to create artistic lamps that can be functional; therefore, we designed our lamps with these bulbs in mind.
